Purpose and Principle Responsibilities

Responsible for generating sales with existing customers and developing opportunities with new customers. 

Essential Duties

Responsible for sales of custom DC motors, electronic drives and electro-mechanical products which are utilized in aerospace and military applications.  Will use technical, organizational and customer knowledge to influence customers, resulting in maximized revenue generation.  Provides technical input to design engineering and participates in marketing, market planning and technical development of products and services.
  • Determine market strategies and goals.
  • Researching and developing potential customers.
  • Determine customer needs for custom electromechanical products and advise customer on possible Electromech products or variations.
  • Follow-up on sales leads and developing leads.
  • Maintaining up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that effect target markets.
  • Establishing and maintaining industry contacts that lead to sales.
  • Making regular sales calls to develop and maintain relationships, requiring up to 50% travel.
  • Acting to close sales and finalize contacts.
  • Developing and maintaining short and long range sales and marketing plans.
  • Producing regular reports and plans; special plans as needed.
  • Communicating data to other organizational personnel.

Required Competencies

  • Four year degree in an engineering discipline preferred.
  • 5+ years sales experience in aviation or military sales.
  • Demonstrated successful track record of results.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels of organization.
  • Demonstrated ability as a change agent.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
  • PC proficiency.
  • Experience in electromechanical equipment industry including motors, blowers and actuators desirable.
